The 1941 Convention is to be held in Oaklawn, Illinois, with the Oaklawn Young People’s Society as the Host Committee. Tentative dates have been set for August 21 and 22,1941.
The banquet has been discussed in detail and accommodations have been arranged. The banquet is to take place on the second evening of our Convention. Tickets are to be sold as in the past and a program with speakers is in the process of arrangement.
The first evening of our Convention is to feature the Inspirational Address by Rev. Hoeksema on the Convention Theme: “Thoroughly Equipped”. On the day following various speakers will develop this subject, each from his own aspect. The subjects upon which each speaker will address the Convention are as follows:
- Thoroughly Equipped to Maintain the Truth.
- Thoroughly Equipped for Our Place in the Midst of the World.
- Thoroughly Equipped unto Our Own Peculiar Times.
The various speakers have been appointed, but it is still too early to report their acceptance.
Lodging accommodations for delegates, speakers and other guests are being carefully prepared and plans are in the offing for welcoming a record attendance.
The Protestant Reformed Young People’s Society of Oaklawn awaits the pleasure of seeing you in August. We are endeavoring to make the 1941 Convention the biggest and best we have ever had.
We would urge all the societies to appoint your delegates as soon as possible and immediately inform us of your appointees, both the names of the delegates and of their alternatives.
